About the Maker: Kitty With A Cupcake creates magically cute flair for Queers, Witches, Crafters, and Cool People! Every item in our shop is an original design created by owner and operator Emily O’Brien. She wields a pastel and neon nostalgic color palette to bring a smile to anyone who could use a tiny infusion of joy. Emily has designed many different products featuring her illustrations including: enamel pins, stickers, stationery, charms, and earrings. I have been a creator for as long as I have been able to form memories. Everything from friendship bracelets to bead animals would keep me occupied for hours as a little girl. Even at that young age, I would day dream about having my own shop to be able to sell my creations. Nothing brings me more satisfaction than seeing another person enjoy something that I made. That feeling is magic and I literally don’t remember a time where I wasn’t working towards making that magic my career. My dad has worked for his small family business for a majority of his career and I love that I grew up knowing that it’s entirely possible to be your own boss. The ability to have a business where I can create new things and share them with other people who enjoy them is the most amazing privilege. As a queer person, I know what a burst of dopamine it is to find inclusive items out in the world. I hope that I can provide that jolt of happiness to women, queer people, and all the wonderful weirdos who relate to my silly little art.
